Still a no go for me.
Pre jailbreak doesn't recognise dfu mode even if QuickFreedom window states Ipod in recovery mode ...

    ^^AXS^^

    ^^AXS^^,

I don't think you're really in DFU mode. QF windows needs to say state "ipod in DFU mode"

After a couple of attempts at the Restore part in iTunes (due to Vista having a disabled Apple Mobile Service turned off!), all else worked perfectly!.

Iam happy to say I now have a Jailbroken iPod - Darn, it's been months I've been waiting - but it was worth it.

Thanks to the Devs who figured this magic out :) :)

To those having problems - please persevere as you'll get it in the end. Just follow the instructions precisely and it Will work. I had to restore my iPod with a normal ipsw file once before iTunes would actually let me do it with the Custom version.

My only problem now is learning how to use Cydia and Installer!! Can't figure ot how to get many of the apps to appear on the 'desktop' of the pod! I'll get there though.

    Thanks again :)

Looks good, nice work with fixing that peskey 1% bug. i'm on the step 3, waiting for my ipod to restore. not sure if the rest works, but I havn't heard any comments saying after the 1% error that there was anything that really catched people.

I've tried about 4 times, each time QF finishes its work, has a zip and ipsw file in its own directory, does 'Finalizing", but then says "Error patching file!" after 'Finishing Patch' - I believe the issue is with copying it to the desktop folder - and quits.

"Object doesn't support this property or method Errcode 25" - is that a .NET error?

I tried installing the 'custom221.ipsw' and that didn't work, but I might not have had the iPod G2 in the right state at the time; currently it's in restore mode....

Also as an aside, I'm on what should be a reasonably decent computer (dual proc 3.20ghz Pentium D, 1gb ram) and it takes (reliably) 15 minutes to get to the 'fail' part... Maybe I just have a slow, fragmented disk...
