Hey Dan I have tried this new quickfreedom and it worked, still being easy to use and has a great GUI, now cydia doesn't crash like in redsn0w's jailbreak, everything worked perfectly thaks a lot.

Just a quick questions: Does the final version of quickfreedom can create custom .ipsw? and when you think it will be released?

    Quickfreedom = Best Jailbreak Tool

if we use the beta, can we just add the custom stuff without uninstalling the beta firmware?

also, i get an error when i launch the jailbreak and i cant manually find the ipod's software. the folder that quickfreedom find the software in doesnt exist!! any where where i can download the actual .ipsw only?

Run quickfreedom with admin privileges and should run fine, if you don't have the firmware just download it from here http://www.felixbruns.de/iPod/firmware/

    Good luck man

hey guys this is beta and has to have some bugs, the first time I used redsn0w for 3.0 firm I got the same error that you have, here is the solution that I found: just run quickfreedom as an admin (if you are on win-vista) and use another 3.0 .ipsw and place it in a diferent folder and that's it, after that should be working fine, make sure you know how to put you ipod into dfu mode ok.

    Good luck

except i have one problem. i don't know if you can help me with it, but it's worth a try. After i jailbroke, i went into cydia and tried installing things like winterboard, categories, intallous and others. But after they downloaded and installed, they didn't show up on the springboard. I don't know if you've ever heard of this or can help at all, but any help would be greatly appreciated

I'm having a lot of trouble trying to get my iPod touch 2G in DFU mode.

I try to follow the instructions the way it says to, but when it says that i have to hold the power button down for 3 seconds, i do that but it always turns on again, so i have to keep turning it off again to re-attempt DFU.

Is there an easier way of getting it into DFU mode or is that the only available option

    Thanks for your help Dan

  • At July 4, 2009 5:44 AM , Blogger Saad Asad said...

Just keep hold both button apple boot logo will automatically go no problem happens to everyone when you see apple logo is gone then leave the power but keep holding the home button

  • At July 4, 2009 10:56 AM , Blogger k1000 said...

Thanks for your advice as well Saad Asad, but it still will not go into DFU mode. I've tried endlessly to get it to work, but it just starts up normally instead of going into DFU mode.

I had no trouble when i jailbroke it for 2.2.1, but it's too difficult this time. There must be a more easier way to get it in DFU mode

to the people having trouble at dfu mode: first, ive found it's easier to install icy and cydia, it's the only way ive succeded, also, after the box closes, hold home untill quickfreedom gets to about 5%, then it will have flashed white about 3 times

I can't even get past step 1. It says unable to accept firmware. Not sure why it won't accept it. I've downloaded the one from Apple and various other websites and it won't take it.

I'm running Vista and in compatibility mode as administrator.
